Horchata Continued…

In my last post, I talked about one of my childhood breakfasts and favorite desserts, rice and milk (thanks mom). I made the connection in the beginning of my blog post to horchata, a Spanish and Mexican rice drink, that is pretty similar to rice and milk/rice pudding. Although I have seen the recipe and have had the pleasure in tasting horchata, I had never seen how it was actually made. This got me curious, so I decided to do a quick search on YouTube. Turns out, it really might not be so hard after all! If you also want to see a video on how to make horchata, click here. There also seems to be another way to make this drink that does not use rice and milk, but tiger nuts instead. Although there is no rice or milk, it seems to have the same effect, and as promised, is vegan. It only requires three ingredients: water, tiger nuts, and cinnamon. If you want to check that out, click here.

If you haven’t read my last blog and are at all interested, it’s called “Rice and Milk”. Hope you enjoy!
